Executive Director, Carmen Moreira presented her proposal titled Social Innovation in Interactive Performance Programming at the 2022 Art of Management and Organization Conference in Liverpool, UK.
The Art of Management and Organization exists to bring together a community of scholars, researchers, practitioners, artists, managers, consultants, and anyone who is interested in understanding management and organization from perspectives drawn from the humanities and arts.
Drawing on their passion and creativity, the Art of Management and Organization 2022 Conference took on the theme of ‘Art as Activism’ with respect to organizations and management.
Carmen’s presentation focused on sharing SQx’s 3 interactive performance programs targeting underserved youth:
- Interactive Performance Program (IDAP) (Multi-Award Winning) – Created to promote positive social values: teamwork, fair-play, kindness, cooperation, imagination, physical literacy
- Anti-Bullying Movement Program (ABMP) – Uses contemporary dance to disrupt bullying
- Active Inclusion Program (AIP) – Uses contemporary dance to disrupt discrimination, racism, intolerance, & hate.
Her presentation also highlighted how SQx has taken AIP online for the COVID era, and how diversity within the organization has bolstered our success.
