31 Oct Round Table & Seminar – Fernie, BC
In cooperation with the Fernie Arts Co-op, SQx is presenting a knowledge sharing and skill development event in Fernie, British Columbia. The goal of the event is to stimulate discussion regarding the blend of art and culture with social innovation and rural regeneration.
During the Round Table Seminar, Fernie Arts Co-op and SQx will collaboratively share the results of major projects undertaken in the Columbia Basin, BC, and beyond to ensure that local artists
- receive inspiration and skills for creating socially conscious arts artwork (including for vulnerable populations)
- receive inspiration and skills about how to adapt their art-form or genre to help make the world a better place or provide meaningful and life-changing transformative experiences for their audiences
- receive knowledge and skills about developing partnerships in the Basin, BC, and beyond
- receive knowledge and skills about institutions, resources, and individuals to contact if they have an idea
- receive knowledge and skills about how to fundraise for large-scale partnerships in the Basin, BC, and beyond
- receive knowledge and skills about the funding and support networks that exist for rural-based artists in Basin, BC, and beyond
- receive knowledge and skills about how to create work in a foreign place
- receive knowledge and skills about how to collaborate with international partners where there may be cultural, legislative, and linguistics barriers between parties
