This dance was created during the pandemic, and whilst COVID forced us to be separate to keep each other safe, it inspired us to to think deeper about how we’re connected to other Canadians.

In this work we studied our identities and who we are, and used this dance to:

  • Explore how the world perceived us and how we perceive ourselves
  • Explore this perception and how it connects or dissociates us from the rest of society
  • Explore how all of these things support of oppose inclusion in Canada

What Am I? celebrates diversity, but more importantly, refines the image of our perceived identities for the greater public. This project explores what it means to be Canadian and how we live and share our hyphenated identities.
