The Tidal Wave project is made of 1 dance film and 1 live contemporary dance performance. The digital & live works are related but are different choreographic interpretations of our theme. Both works explore ecological issues to help audiences reflect more deep long on our relationship with the earth. Tidal Wave | In The Wild is ideally presented as a precursor for Tidal Wave | On the Stage—as part of a double-bill. However, Tidal Wave
| In the Wild can also be screened independently.

We filmed in Egilsstaðir, Iceland and the traditional and unceded territory of the Tsimshian and Tahltan Nations in where is colonially known as British Columbia, Canada.

In Egilsstaðir, as artist-in-residence at Stofnun Gunnars Gunnarssonar (http://www.skriduklaustur.is/), we filmed in and around Iceland’s largest power plant, Kárahnjúkar. This hydropower facility features six purple 115 Mega Watt Francis-Type Turbines.

This dance aims to raise awareness about complex ecological issues to help audiences reflect more deeply on our relationship with the earth. The turbine is our metaphor for the complexities of our relationship with the environment.
